Many people are unable to smell certain musk molecules, so a musk that others notice may barely register on you. Sample on skin and ask someone else before buying.

What Musk Is Now
Musk was historically an animal material. Mainstream perfumery no longer uses it; what you smell today is a family of synthetic musks, developed over more than a century. Some early synthetic musks have since been restricted or banned by industry safety standards, and modern perfumery relies on newer musk molecules that are soft, clean and very long-lasting.
